‘The Vampire Diaries’ Recap: Stefan Risks Elena’s Life — Did He Go Too Far?-It was a night of betrayals for nearly every couple in Mystic Falls. Did this episode totally change your opinion of Stefan?
Let me just start by saying I would not want to be a member of Team Stefan (Paul Wesley) right now. Honestly, how would one go about explaining his behavior as of late? We’ve already seen how his obsession with destroying Klaus (Joseph Morgan) has put a strain on his relationship with Elena (Nina Dobrev), but he reached a new low on the Jan. 12 episode of The Vampire Diaries when he threatened to kill Elena on the very same bridge where her parents died just a few years earlier.
But don’t celebrate just yet, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) fans. Despite all of her newfound disgust with Stefan, Elena still didn’t feel right repeating last week’s epic kiss with Damon. “It’s not right,” she told him on the porch, to which he snidely replied, “not right now.” She may have said no, but her lingering stare as he walked back to his car revealed a very different desire.
And Stefan and Elena weren’t the only off-again couple visiting Dysfunction Junction this week. Caroline (Candice Accola) and Tyler’s (Michael Trevino) rocky relationship practically plummeted when, at Klaus’ request, he sank his teeth into her. And we all know what happens when werewolves nom on vampires. (RIP, Rose!)
Meredith (Torrey DeVitto) was another interesting character to watch this week. We’re only learning a little about her at a time, but considering her ex-boyfriend mysteriously turned up dead in the woods — after telling Alaric (Matt Davis) what a psycho bitch Meredith is – I’m thinking there’s something suspicious going on with her. Let’s just hope Alaric figures out what that is before it’s too late. OK, time to tell me what’s on your minds: Was Stefan’s betrayal unforgivable, or are you still holding out hope for him?
